Message from the Chair of the EMVCo Board of Managers Amid changing consumer behaviour and technological innovation, EMVCo is focused on helping enable seamless, reliable and secure payments across new and emerging use cases. This requires close collaboration with our Associates, Subscribers and industry partners, as well as the wider payments community. At last month’s Board of Advisors meeting in Melbourne, Australia, our Advisors helped drive discussions on key strategic priorities. This included EMVCo’s work on Electric Vehicle Open Payments (EVOP), ongoing developments to the EMV® Secure Remote Commerce (SRC), EMV 3-D Secure (3DS) and EMV Payment Tokenisation Specifications, and the status of the TapToMobile initiative. Commonwealth Bank of Australia and the Australian Payments Network (AusPayNet) also shared their insights and perspectives on the Australian payments industry, providing potential learnings for global stakeholders. We look forward to building on this engagement at the upcoming Technical Meeting in Phoenix, USA, in April, followed by the annual EMV User Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, in June. We are also holding two Special Interest Meetings (SIM), one on EVOP and the other on the Biometric on Card work, alongside the EMV User Meeting. These two sessions will enable EMVCo Associates and EMVCo Subscribers from relevant industry verticals to explore key requirements and considerations in detail, and we strongly encourage all interested stakeholders to participate. For further information on EMVCo’s work, please find below a recap of key news, technical updates and activities from the first quarter, as well as a snapshot of the latest educational resources available to support understanding of EMVCo’s work. We encourage you to share this newsletter with your colleagues and industry peers.
