Changes in the Level 1 Test Cases since version 4.3d Regarding the Electrical Test Cases, the most important changes since version 4.3d are: The specific acceptance criteria defined for IFM renewals have been removed from the procedure of the Test Case 1CB.013.0x. Laboratories shall now apply manually the appropriate acceptance criteria for IFM Renewals. The EMV® Terminal Type Approval Communication No. 285, 3rd Edition, December 2021, “Contact Level 1 Electrical – Testing of IFMs Powered by Batteries” has been merged into the IFM Test Cases document. Regarding the Protocol Test Cases, the most important changes since version 4.3d are: Minor editorial and reference corrections: o 1712: Improve coverage with ’60’ procedure byte between data out and SW o 1713: Correction of step 17 o 1714: Update delay to repeat the character with parity error and improvement of coverage on step 31 o 1732: Update AC: deactivation delay reduced to 10.8 + D x 960 o 1755.07 to 10: Correction of TCk for the incorrect Cold ATR o 1770.wx03, 1771.03z, 1772.03z, 1776.03z, 1778.03z, 1779.03z, 1784.03z, 1785.03z, 1788.03z, 1794.w03z, 1804.03z, 1807.04z, 1808.04z, 1809.04z, 1812.03z: Clarify NAD value that shall be used o 1783: Update b1-b4 of PFB of R-Block in step 24 o 1790: Clarified the scenarios for Warm ATR o 1792: Link acceptance criteria with support of chain abortion mechanism (ICS) o 1800.12 and 13: AC update: Remove margin for the inter-character timing. o 1807.04z: Clarification of expected R(ACK) 3. Planning EMVCo expects the IFM Electrical and Protocol Test Tools to be qualified by the end of December 2023. The version 1.0a of the IFM Test Plan will be activated on January 1st, 2024 and will become mandatory on March 1st, 2024. The timeline and milestones presented are provisional and subject to change.
