Specification Bulletin No. 94 First Edition November 2011 Aligns the Kernel Identifier Tag and corrects the Contactless Protocol Parameter Profile Values and the Class byte for the P UT T E MP L ATE, G E T T E MP L ATE and S E T MODE commands This Specification Bulletin:
- Aligns the Kernel Identifier tag used in version 1.0 of the Application Activation User Interface document with that used in the version 2.1 of the Entry Point Specification. The tag of ‘9F2A’ is the correct value for Kernel Identifier. The tag of ‘9F28’ was specified in a previous version of the Entry Point Specification.
- Corrects the Protocol Type values and associated lengths in Contactless Protocol Parameter Profile Value
- Corrects the Class byte for the PUT TEMPLATE, GET TEMPLATE and SET MODE commands to cater for the receipt of these commands on logical channels other than the basic logical channel
Effective Date
This bulletin is effective from November 2011 and all CMP type approval related testing will comply to this Specification Bulletin as opposed to the currently published version 1.0 of the Application Activation User Interface document.

1. Kernel Identifier Tag
Description
The tag of ‘9F28’ for the Kernel Identifier used in the published AAUI document (and a previous version of the Entry Point Specification) is not aligned with the tag of ‘9F2A’ used in the most recent Entry Point Specification. This alignment affects the following in the AAUI document:
- Table A.1, row 28, left most cell – Value of ‘9F28’ changes to ‘9F2A’
- Table A.1, row 34, left most cell – Value of ‘9F28’ changes to ‘9F2A’
- Table A.3, row 22, left most cell – Value of ‘9F28’ changes to ‘9F2A’
- Table A.3, row 28, left most cell – Value of ‘9F28’ changes to ‘9F2A’
- Table B.12, row 9, left most cell – Value of ‘9F28’ changes to ‘9F2A’
- Table B.12, row 17, left most cell – Value of ‘9F28’ changes to ‘9F2A’

Contactless Protocol Parameter Profile Values Description The value used to identify the Protocol Type for both type A and type B is incorrectly specified in Table A.2 of the currently published AAUI document. The value of each type should be a 2 byte value of ‘3230’ as opposed to the currently specified 4 byte value of ‘33323330’. This affects the following in the AAUI document: Table A.2 should be replaced with the following: Content 'A0' '0E‘ Contactless Protocol Parameters 'A2' '0C' Contactless Protocol Parameter Profile 'A0' '04' '80' '02' ' 3230' Protocol Type A 'A1' '04' '80' '02' ' 3230' Protocol Type B Presence Mandatory Mandatory Mandatory Mandatory http://www.emvco.com/ 3. Class byte for P UT T E MP L ATE, G E T T E MP L ATE and S E T MODE commands Description The class byte defined for the PUT TEMPLATE, GET TEMPLATE and SET MODE commands in the currently published AAUI document incorrectly specifies that it is only possible for the PPSE to receive these commands over the basic logical channel. The class bytes should define that these commands may be received over logical channels 1, 2 and 3 as well if these logical channels are supported by the Secure Element. This correction affects the following in the AAUI document:
- Table B.14, The value for the CLA byte changes from ‘80’ to ’80’ - ‘83’
- Table B.18, The value for the CLA byte changes from ‘80’ to ’80’ - ‘83’
