Specification Update No. 49 First Edition July 2006 Data Errors during List of AIDs Selection This specification update requires that during List of AIDs application selection the terminal ignore a selected ADF when mandatory data is missing from the SELECT response data or when the FCI contains format errors.

Description
During List of AIDs application selection if mandatory data is missing from the SELECT response data for an ADF or if the File Control Information (FCI) contains formatting errors not described in Section 12.2.5, the related DF Name shall not be added to the candidate list and the terminal shall continue selection with the next AID on the terminal's list of AIDs. Specification Change Notice Please make the following changes to Book 1, Section 12.3.3. Replace the final paragraph of step 3 with the following: "If the card returns any other status or if mandatory data is missing from the SELECT response or if the FCI contains formatting errors not described in Section 12.2.5, the terminal proceeds to Step 5 without adding a DF Name to the candidate list." Modify Figure 18 as follows:
