SB nº SU-35 : Change of Terminology for Issuer Identification Number (Spec Change)
Specification Update: Bulletin no. 35 First edition February 11th, 2004 Change of Terminology for Issuer Identification Number This Specification Update changes the name assigned to the Issuer Public Key Certificate field that contains the leftmost 3-8 digits from the PAN. This field has been called 'Issuer Identification Number' but is now called 'Issuer Identifier' to avoid conflict with the Issuer Identification Number data element that is being added to Book 1 for use during Application Selection. Other than the name change, the field usage remains the same. Please change 'Issuer Identification Number' to 'Issuer Identifier' in the following locations of EMV 2000 Integrated Circuit Card Specifications for Payment Systems Version 4.0 Book 2 Security and Key Management:
