  • EMVCo General Bulletin N°14, Migration Schedule for Introduction of New CVM Condition Codes In order to allow issuers to specify different cardholder verification methods for different types of cash and cashback transactions, the ‘If Cash or Cashback’ CVM Condition Code is being subdivided into three separate CVM Condition Codes for unattended cash, manual cash, and purchase with cashback transactions. ‘If unattended cash’ applies to cash transactions at ATMs, cash dispensing machines, and other unattended devices. ‘If manual cash’ applies to cash transactions at attended financial institution or merchant devices. ‘If purchase with cashback’ applies to purchase transactions where the cardholder receives cash in addition to goods or services. Specification Changes Make the following changes to:

Copyright © EMVCo LLC 2003 Change the meaning of value '01' from 'If Cash or cashback' to 'If unattended cash' Change the meaning of value ‘02’ from ‘If not cash or cashback’ to ‘If not unattended cash, and not manual cash and not purchase with cashback’ Change the entry for value '04' – '05' to two entries, one with a value of '04' and with a meaning of 'If manual cash' and the other with a value of '05' and with a meaning of 'If purchase with cashback'.
