Specifications Updates Bulletin no. 10 First Edition March 2002 Addition of flag to indicate support of No CVM Required cardholder verification method The contents of this bulletin have immediate effect. This bulletin applies to EMV 2000 Integrated Circuit Card Specifications for Payment Systems Version 4.0 Book 4, Annex A2. In order to enable optional support for the No CVM Required cardholder verification method in terminals, it is necessary to add a bit to the Terminal Capabilities data element to indicate whether the terminal supports the ‘No CVM Required’ CVM. Please make the following change to EMV 2000 Integrated Circuit Card Specifications for Payment Systems Version 4.0, Book 4, Annex A2 Terminal Capabilities: In Table 17 Byte 2 fifth row, change the Meaning column from "RFU" to "No CVM Required" and b4 column from "0" to "1".
