Description

The first edition of SB-117 provided guidance on the behaviour of a terminal when it encounters tagged data elements in a template that are not in an order described in the specification. While the first edition of SB-117 was provided without requiring changes to the specifications, this behaviour is required of terminals. This 2nd edition is published to define the specific changes to the specifications to reflect this requirement of terminals. Specification Changes 1. In Section 5.2, after the second paragraph (Upon receipt, …in the application), insert following: The actual order of tagged data elements within templates encountered by the terminal may differ from that described in the Specifications. The terminal shall not treat different ordering of data elements as an error.
