Description

At the Montreal Technical Associates meetings a proposal was raised to EMVCo to introduce into EMV the option to filter the applications supported by the terminal’s list of AIDs during the EMV application selection session. This was discussed at the TA meeting and there was a general consensus that the option to filter is desirable and should be progressed within EMV. This specification bulletin aims to provide clarifications required to the application selection section in the Book 1. Proposed Specification Changes 1. Section 4.4 Terminology. Add new term ‘business agreement’: An agreement reached between a payment system and its business partner(s). 2. Book 1, Section 12.3, second paragraph. Change: The terminal may know other ways that are not described in this section to locate proprietary applications or to eliminate specific applications in the ICC from consideration. This is permitted as long as all interoperable applications can be located in the ICC using the techniques described here. To the following:
