Specification Bulletin No. 117 First Edition December 2012 Order of Data Elements in Templates This Specification Bulletin clarifies the order of data elements in templates in the EMV Integrated Circuit Card Specifications for Payment Systems.

Description

The actual order of tagged data elements within templates encountered by the terminal may differ from that described in the Specifications. Terminal shall not treat different ordering as an error. However, to avoid any potential interoperability issues, issuers are strongly recommended to follow the proposed structure and order of the data elements as shown in EMV.
