Effective Date

• June 2017 Dear, EMVCo is pleased to announce that an Application Kernel approval is now valid for four years. This validity period applies to static and configurable kernels approved with the 4.3f test plan version. Letter of Approval Date The starting date is the date of the initial baseline approval, independently from subsequent submission. Already issued LoAs, where testing was performed with the test plan 4.3f version, will be re-issued to reflect this 4 year validity on EMVCo website. Renewal Date By passing the Renewal test, the product will receive a four-year extension to the Letter of Approval. Restricted Renewal Date Products failing full Renewal testing may be considered for a Restricted Renewal. A product can only receive one extension (Four years for kernels) as a Restricted Renewal. countries.
