Description
The EMV 4.3, Book 4 section 6.5.2 states that Attended Terminals with online capabilities shall support Voice Issuer Referrals. The support of the Voice Issuer Referral will be reinforced during Type Approval from July 1st, 2018. After this date, all Attended Terminal, Online Only or Online Capable configurations submitted in the ICS shall support Voice Issuer Referral. For a Kernel approved before July 2018, the following specific rules apply:
- If a Product Provider wants to submit an Attended additional Configuration to an already approved kernel not supporting the Voice Issuer Referral, the support of Voice Issuer Referral is not mandated in this new configuration.
- If a Product Provider wants to submit a Kernel for renewal, the Kernel is eligible for the Restricted Renewal process in case the Voice Issuer Referral is not supported in attended configurations. The Restricted Renewal process will apply (but audit of the result is not needed).
- In both cases, the LoA will contain a note reflecting the fact that the Voice Issuer Referral is not supported for the attended configuration. countries.
