Description

The 3DS Approval administrative process supports two different submission types when a Product Provider wants to obtain a LOA for his 3DS product:

• Initial Product submission
• Change Product submission The Change Product process was introduced to support the use case where a Product Provider updates his product to support new features or fix issues, and the changed 3DS Product replaces the former one (Refer to the section 6.1.2 of the Administrative Process for details). However, this change process does not provide real benefits to the 3DS Product Provider and it can also create confusion on the management of the LOA publication on the web site. Additionally, it has been rarely used in the past 2 years. For these reasons, it has been decided to sunset it in the next versions of Administrative Process and ICS that will be released in the first half of 2021. With the updated process, Product Providers will always use the Initial Product submission mode whether the product is a brand-new one or a change made to another Product already approved. Until the release of the new version of documents, and although Change Product submission is still available in the applicable form and process, we advise Product Providers to already start using the Initial Product submission and not the Change Product submission when submitting an ICS for a changed Product.
