EMVCo is pleased to announce the availability of Contactless Terminal Level 1 Reduced Range PCD Type Approval Test Plan v3.2a documents. 1. Updated documents The following documents have been published on the EMVCo website:

  • EMV Type Approval Contactless Terminal Level 1― Reduced Range PCD Level 1 Test Guidelines, version 3.2a, February 2025.
  • EMVCo Type Approval Contactless Terminal Level 1 ― Reduced Range PCD Implementation Conformance Statement Version 3.2a.
  • EMV Terminal Type Approval Reduced Range PCD Level 1 – Administrative Process, version 3.2a, February 2025. 2. Updates since version 3.1a The following updates were made following version 3.1a of the following documents:
  • Reduced Range PCD Level 1 Test Guidelines:
  • Editorial updates.
  • Alignment with PCD Analogue Test Cases v3.2a: Addition of Test Cases TAB116, TAB117 and TA129. countries.
  • Reduced Range PCD Implementation Conformance Statement:
  • New questions III.1.4 and III.1.5 to check which transaction completion procedure(s) the PCD implements.
  • New question III.1.1.3 to check if the PCD performs the optional suspend after a polling cycle.
  • Administrative Process:
  • Document version updates. Notes: The Acceptance Criteria defined in TTA Bulletin No. 276, 1st Ed. remain valid. 3. Activation and migration planning EMVCo expects the Reduced Range PCD Analogue and PCD Digital Test Tools to be qualified by the end of February 2025 (timeline subject to change). Version 3.2a of the Reduced Range PCD Test Plan will be activated on April 1st, 2025, and will become mandatory on October 1st, 2025. countries.
